A PERSON escaped with minor injuries after their car was overturned on Caerleon road during rush hour this evening.
One driver who called the Argus at around 5.30pm said he had seen a car overturned. He said it was upside down on the pavement, close to a residential property.
Leighton Shipp from Risca was driving back from work when he spotted the incident and took a picture at 5.15pm.
He said: “There were a couple of bystanders but I couldn’t tell if any of them had been the occupants or not.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.04pm today, Wednesday, to reports of an overturned car on Caerleon Road in Newport.
“A paramedic in a rapid response vehicle attended the incident and treated a patient for minor injuries at the scene.”
The fire service was not in attendance.
A CAR has overturned and come off the road near the roundabout on Caerleon Road just before the M4.
The car has come to rest partly on a pavement and partly on a property.
