BLAENAU Gwent Council has announced it is to hold two public information meetings so residents can find out more about budget cuts and plans for the future and put questions to the executive committee.
A spokeswoman said: “The UK government has cut funding for public services. As a result we must have to reduce our levels of service.
“This is your chance to get the details of our budget principles, decisions and plans for delivering our services in 2014/15 and beyond.”
The leadership and senior management team will be available to answer questions from the public in a panel session about the financial challenges facing Blaenau Gwent.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide residents with feedback from the public survey on budget proposals, explaining budget principles, give them the opportunity to find out more about the savings proposals and decisions already taken by the council in August and December and allow the council to explain its plans, principles and options to generate income.
The meetings will be held on Tuesday at 6pm at the Ebbw Fawr Learning Community (Primary Phase) and on Wednesday, also at 6pm, at Llanhilleth Institute.
