A POTENTIAL witness who might have seen robbers at a Cwmbran newsagent’s shop is being sought by police.
Simon Davies, 27, was working at Barters newsagents on Llantarnam Road on Monday night when two masked robbers entered the shop at about 9.50pm and demanded money. One threatened him with a machete that was about ten inches long. They left on foot after stealing cigarettes, cash and Mr Davies’ mobile phone.
The shop’s owner, Andrew Barter, was making his way back to Cwmbran yesterday afternoon after cutting short a holiday in Spain.
Gwent Police want to speak to a woman who was seen passing by the shop just before the attack. Anyone who has information on the robberyshould call 101 and quote log number 525 17/2/2014.
