AN UNEMPLOYED Newport dad has found work only a day after appealing in the Argus for someone to give him a job.
David Green who had applied for hundreds of jobs in the past year was offered a job by Newport Transport earlier this afternoon, which he has accepted.
Mr Green is expecting to start his new role as a trainee bus driver in three to four weeks. He said he was relieved to finally be in full time employment and leave his days of sending relentless applications behind.
The 40-year-old father said the response since appearing in the paper has been incredible.
"I couldn't have asked for more.
"My inbox is full - I've been answering emails for the last 24 hours."
"My approach was definitely different though I don't know why someone hasn't thought of it before.
"After months and months of banging my head against the wall - this is what has worked for me. I thought instead of applying to adverts, I would advertise myself.
"Good luck to anyone else in the same situation."
