Andy Howells chats to Gwent's Hot Damn
Who are you and how did you come together?
We are Hot Damn, we actually got together simply for fun, with the intention of bringing something a bit different to our local music scene, but as the band began to get serious, writing music quickly became something we all grew to be very passionate about.
Where are you from?
We are all from Blaenau Gwent, South Wales
How would you describe your music style?
We try to keep it catchy without losing the sentiment behind the lyrics. People describe it as 'gritty pop punk' but we just like to write music without trying to stick to a certain type, people can label us however they please.
What’s been your best live experience?
I can't speak for the rest of the boys but I'm pretty sure they'd agree that our best live experience was on our first ever European tour, more specifically our first time in Germany where we played a secret show in a completely full room with people crowd-surfing and screaming our lyrics back at us. That was a pretty special experience that will stay with us for a long time.
What are you working on at the moment?
At the moment we are juggling getting back on the road for our first UK tour of the year and working hard on writing our debut album to be released later this year, we are keeping super busy but loving every second of it.
Where can people hear your music?
People can find our music at;

www.hotdamnuk.bandcamp.com
Or through our label Small Town Records
