RELIGIOUS education was the hot topic last month for Year 6 pupils in Monmouthshire as they went to four special RE days at Abergavenny, Caldicot, Chepstow and Monmouth.
For the second year running, children were introduced to the world’s major religions of Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism and the Jewish, Baha’i and Hindu faiths.
Members of those faiths gave pupils an insight into their beliefs, answered questions and explained the significance of particular artefacts. Quizzes then gave pupils a chance to use books on religion from the Schools Literacy and Resource Centre.
