Ahead of their appearance in Cardiff next week, acoustic singer/songwriting duo Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou chat to Andy Howells
Who are you and where do you originate from?
We are Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou- a husband and wife duo from St Leonards-on-Sea.
How long have you been together as a band?
We’ve been singing and writing songs together for nearly ten years. We released one album with our band ‘indigo moss’, then began making albums as a duo six years ago. We’re currently working on our fourth duo album.
How would you describe your style of music?
Harmony fuelled acoustic song writing.
What's your best live experience so far?
It’s hard to pick. Maybe the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury last year, or opening for Richard Thompson at the Liverpool Philharmonic on a ‘Bob Harris Presents’ night, or perhaps one of our very earliest festival performances on the main stage at Green Man. Last summer we spent two weeks in the Pyrenees and popped down into Girona for a gig. We played in a beautiful forest clearing to a couple of hundred people, and it was one of the highlights of the year.
What can we expect from the Cafe tour when it reaches Cardiff?
Our Cardiff show is the very first one of the tour. As well as undertaking mainstream headline tours and spending many months of the year supporting other artists in big concert halls, we like to head out ‘off the beaten track’ and take in some more intimate shows every now and then. We’re busy in the studio at the moment working on our next album, so we’ll be chucking the guitars and a mic in the back of the van and venturing out for a week to try out some new songs, and some old favourites. If you haven’t seen us live before, expect acoustic guitars and lots of harmonies.
Where can we catch you live?
On March 9th our Café tour kicks of at Gwdihw in Cardiff. Our very special guest for the tour is infamous Swedish singer songwriter Benjamin Folke Thomas, plus Welsh songstress Eve Goodman on this date.
