A LEADING charity is calling on the people of Gwent to celebrate Wales and Welshness during ‘Big Welsh Month’ throughout March.
Age Cymru Gwent is organising a fun-filled month to raise funds to support its work with older people.
Eileen Powell, executive director of Age Cymru Gwent, said: “We’re asking the people of Gwent to get involved, celebrate Wales and everything that’s Welsh, and have fun while helping Age Cymru Gwent to help older people across Gwent.
“Big Welsh Month is a great way of bringing everyone together to celebrate the diversity of Wales and we’re all very excited by it.”
There are many ways to get involved with Big Welsh Month, with suggestions including challenging friends to a Welsh cake bake-off; buying and wearing an Age Cymru leek or holding a Welsh-themed quiz night.
For a fundraising pack, call Age Cymru Gwent on 01633 763330 or send an email to ho@agecymrugwent.org, or call into the Newport office at Age Cymru Gwent, 12 Baneswell Road, Newport NP20 4BP, to contribute.
