PARENTS joined their children for a day's learning at the Beaufort Centre in Newport this week, as part of a family learning day organised by St Julian's Primary School.
Children from nursery and years 1 and 2 along with their parents and carers took part in craft activities on Friday and were learning literacy and numeracy skills as well as doing practical activities, including potting plants, playing with a puppeteer, dancing and exercising, making jewellery, and playing instruments.
The fun, messy activities were supervised by 30 staff from the school and everyone went home with goodies they had made during the day.
Staff say the family learning days have been running for several years and are proving very popular with parents.
