PRODUCERS will be seeing if the people of Newport have the X Factor when auditions are held this Friday in the city centre.
The X Factor team will be at the Kingsway Centre between 10am and 3pm to hold the first stage of mobile auditions for the signing competition. The show’s judges, which this year includes the return of Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell, will not be present for the first stage of auditions, but producers will be set -up in an empty unit inside the shopping centre.
Michael Hine, Kingsway Centre manager, said: “We are hoping for a good response. The producers say they can’t tell how many will turn up, but are expecting a high turnout.
“It will bring an extra dimension altogether to Newport shoppers and youngsters coming down on the day.”
“We’ve had Casualty filming here but not something of this nature before.”
The centre have made queue arrangements to the unit opposite B and M where the auditions will be held.
The auditions will run until 4.30pm for those in full time education and are only open to contestants who are 16-years-old or older. For more information, visit itv.com/xfactor
