MEMBERS of the British team who trekked to the South Pole with Prince Harry will visit Newport at the end of the month.
Explorers Guy Disney, Kate Philp and charity co-founder Ed Parker will make a guest appearance at a fundraising gala at The Celtic Manor Resort.
The trio endured temperatures as low as -45C and 50mph winds during last year’s 335km South Pole Allied Challenge in aid of the injured sericemen charity, Walking With The Wounded.
They hiked for between 15km to 20km per day with fellow team member Prince Harry, pulling sledges weighing in excess of 70kg in a bid to reach the southernmost point on the globe.
Parker, Disney and Philp will be joined by the Paralympic world record holder Danny Crates, who will host the exclusive event on April 25.
People will have the opportunity to meet and be photographed alongside all four personalities.
Tickets, which are limited, cost £59 and are available from today by e-mailing Janet@janetharris.co.uk. All profits will go back to Walking With The Wounded.
