SEVENTEEN police officers have cycled a 90-mile-round trip from Newport Police Station to Brecon to raise cash for a children’s charity.
The Newport police officers hope to raise more than £1,000 for the charity HCPT which aims to give children the chance to go abroad.
Group 99 of HCPT serves Gwent children by working throughout the year to give children the opportunity to visit Lourdes for a week.
On June 6 the officers set off from Newport Police Station at 9am with the mayor of Newport Matthew Evans attending to show support.
The officers cycled 90 miles from Newport to Brecon and finished on Saturday at the Newport Fugitives Club.
PC Tony Evans, said: “We’re doing it for HCPT which is a good charity”.
