THE traffic census is scheduled to take place on the M4 junction 23a roundabout Eastbound today.
Newport Bus said it had also received reports of surveys taking place on the A48 toward Langstone.
Operational manager Gareth Jones said routes had been unaffected though.
Traffic chaos has been caused in Newport for more than a week due to the roadside stops, which are for a Welsh government traffic survey.
The survey, which drivers are asked to free post back once completed, asks questions about the specific journey they are making at the time. Questions include where have you driven from and to, and the reason for the journey. The survey aims to assess travel patterns in South-East Wales.
Drivers vented their anger online last week, with many saying the lack of warning meant they had been unable to make travel arrangements to avoid the delays.
A Welsh Government statement said: "We won't be advertising the dates and locations of surveys as this could effect the results."
