A MAN has been arrested after a waste site was raided in Blaenau Gwent.
Gwent Police and Natural Resources Wales officers raided the site over concerns that some activities at the site were breaching its environmental permit.
Officers used a warrant to search the premises after evidence was gathered The arrested man remains in police custody.
Specialist investigation teams will now compile all the evidence and consider taking legal action against the company if necessary.
Jon Goldsworthy, environment manager from Natural Resources Wales said: “We have a duty to investigate where we believe illegal waste activity may be taking place, and to make sure that all waste sites which we regulate are playing by the rules.
“Those acting illegally can undercut and undermine legitimate businesses and we will not hesitate to take the appropriate action against them.
