TWO Gwent pupils have been chosen from hundreds of applicants for the opportunity to experience the film industry first hand.
Lee Roche, of St Julian’s Primary School in Newport, and Dewi Thomas, of Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni in Fleur-de-Lys, submitted an audition tape to Into Film’s Talent Development Programme in March, citing their passion for the movies.
The programme is run by Into Film, an education charity that seeks to put film at the heart of young people’s learning.
The programme offers participants experience in film reviewing, interviewing film industry professionals, and reporting from film events and red-carpet premieres.
Previous participants have interviewed big industry names including Steven Spielberg, Daniel Radcliffe, and Kate Winslet.
Picked from hundreds of applicants, they found out in May that they have been given the opportunity to take part in the programme. Speaking about why he auditioned for the programme, Lee said: “I want to get the chance to interview some amazing people.”
