NEWPORT City Labour Council could easily win a “Weeds in Bloom” award.
The city’s pavements and gutters are near chock-a-block with weeds, some waist high (and dogs’ mess ankle high).
Complaints are ignored and it appears the council’s work force is also ignored. I have seen a council employee in Bank Street, St Julians, photographing pavements, weeds and dogs’ mess.
Surely the photos and a report are sent to someone in the highways department (Street Scene).
Perhaps the council is planning to hand over street cleaning to a trust and we will see a council tax cut!
