A DECORATED ex-soldier accused of causing the deaths of a retired RAF Flight Sergeant and his wife on a dual carriageway has been found not guilty.
Harising Gurung was charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving near Clytha and two alternative counts of causing death by careless driving.
But a jury today found the 45-year-old not guilty on all four counts.
The incident occurred when Mr Gurung, of Beacons Close, Brecon, collided with the Ka of David and Mary Marshall, on Sunday, July 20, last year.
The trial at Newport Crown Court was previously told the Mr Gurung, a former Company Sergeant Major with the Gurkha Rifles, had suffered a sneezing fit while driving.
The jury returned a majority verdict, with deliberations lasting four hours and five minutes.
The judge Daniel Williams said: “There are no more difficult cases than this type.
“I extend my condolences to the friends and family of Mr and Mrs Marshall.”
