The motorcyclist who died in a collision on the A449 on Saturday has been named as Kevin Morgan.
Mr Morgan, 60, of Cwmbran, died at the scene of the incident on Saturday morning.
The collision involved a black BMW car and a white Kawasaki motorcycle.
The driver of the BWM, a 32 year old man from Chepstow, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

THE MAN arrested following the death of a 60-year-old motorcyclist after a collision on the A449 has been released on bail.
Gwent Police had arrested the driver of a black BMW on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

POLICE have arrested a driver on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the death of a motorcyclist on the A449.
The 60-year-old man died at the scene of yesterday’s accident which involved a black BMW and a white Kawasaki motorbike.
Gwent Police said the BMW driver had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was in custody yesterday.
The motorcyclist has not been named. Police said specialist officers were supporting the family of the deceased.

UPDATE 15.45: The Southbound carriageway has re-opened. A449 Northbound remains closed. Emergency services remain on scene.
A motorcyclist has died following a crash just outside Newport this morning.
At 11.15am emergency services were called to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A449 northbound, between the Coldra and Usk, involving a Kawasaki motorbike and a black BMW.
An air ambulance attended, but one male, the sole passenger of the motorbike, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A449 both ways remain closed between M4 J24 / A48 (Coldra) and A472 (Usk Interchange) while investigation work underway. Police are directing traffic, but there are no estimates as to when the road will reopen. Heavy traffic reported.
