A 75-YEAR-OLD man is in a critical condition in hospital following a collision in Cwmbran this morning.
Gwent Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision involving a blue people carrier and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 75-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
A 26-year-old man from Gloucester is currently in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of careless driving, driving without a driving licence and driving without insurance.
The incident happened at around 9.45am this morning at the car wash on Llantarnam Road.
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: "The owner of the people carrier may not be aware that their vehicle was involved in a collision and officers are appealing for them to get in touch.
"If this is you, or if you witnessed the collision, call 101 quoting log 237 22/06/14."
