THREE senior members of a Newport independent school are to retire this term after more than 50 years’ combined service.
Outgoing head teacher of Rougemont School, Dr Jonathan Tribbick joined in 2002 and has been praised by Ieuan Short, chairman of governors for his integrity and leadership, enabling the school to make improvements “beyond expectations”.
“Dr Tribbick’s contribution to the school has been immeasurable,” said Mr Short.
At the end of this academic year, Lesley Turner will retire as head of the preparatory school while Liz Ferrand will retire as pastoral deputy head of the senior school.
Mr Short said: “Both of them have made huge contributions to the school.”
Robert Carnevale, from Newport, will succeed Dr Tribbick as head teacher.
“The governors know that in Mr Carnevale they have appointed a leader of integrity and vision,” said Mr Short.
