THIS weekend will see the first ever Steelhouse Rock’n’Ride Motorbike Rideout, from Newport to Ebbw Vale, in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance.

On Sunday June 29, meeting at South Wales Superbikes, Queensway Meadows and riding en-mass across Junction 28 to Ebbw Vale Welfare and Rugby Club, the ride hopes to raise significant funds to support the invaluable work the Air Ambulance does throughout the year.

Sally-Ann Evans, partner and organiser at Limeface, who are organising the ride, said: “We hope to attract as many riders as possible from all over Wales and the surrounding areas and to be able to build on it for next year.”

“The eyes of the motorsport and biking community are on this area currently because of the plans for the area’s development” said Matt Rhead, another Limeface partner. “Wales is such a popular area for bikers it’s important that we use the community spirit bikers naturally display for good purpose. And what better cause than one that every single person could benefit from – not just bikers.”

Registrations are from 11am at South Wales Superbikes. Rideout starts at 2pm – the Rugby Club opens to non-riders at 2pm. The riders will arrive at the club at approximately 3pm, with live music from 4pm and raffle prizes, trade stands and exhibitions.
