THOUSANDS of people are expected to visit Blaenavon on Saturday for a fun packed day of family entertainment.
Events at Blaenavon World Heritage Day on June 28 will run in the town centre between 11am and 4pm and as always, the highlight of the day will be the heritage costume parade.
The parade starts at 1pm from the top of Broad Street and proceeds through the town.
The theme for this year’s parade is Then and Now with a focus on technology, celebrating key innovative developments in the history of the iron and coal industries in Blaenavon.
This year’s event also includes a variety of new activities including a miniature steam railway, Victorian characters, Victorian photo booth, storytelling and a Punch and Judy show.
Throughout the day visitors can enjoy a traditional Victorian fun fair, dancers, live music, various craft stalls and the shops in town.
Staff from Big Pit will be holding a Pop Up Museum with various mining themed objects.
