VINTAGE vehicles rolled into a car park in Newport as shoppers marked Armed Forces Day on Saturday.
Fundraisers recreated a Forties’ village fete with a brass band, food and games at Asda in Lower Dock Street, Pill with staff collecting hundreds for Help for Heroes.
Mayor of Newport, Matthew Evans, attended the fete.
Store manager Gareth Jones, 41, said:“We had a good crowd and lots of groups came down. It was very successful.”
The vintage military display set up camp in the car park courtesy of Cwmbran veterans and military enthusiasts including Alan Terry.
The vehicles included one of the iconic Green Goddess fire engines enjoyed by visitors like dad Andrew Davies and two-year-old Louis.
