TWO men were arrested on suspicion of affray after an incident in Pill.
Gwent Police were called to reports of a man with a knife on Commercial Road, near Charlotte Green, at around 1.10pm yesterday.
A 23-year-old and a 39-year-old were arrested and taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to an incident in the Pillgwenlly area of Newport at 1.11pm on Monday June 30.
“A crew in an emergency ambulance attended, and a man in his thirties was taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital.”
The ambulance service spokeswoman was unable to confirm the nature of the injuries.
Gwent Police said that their inquiries were ongoing and that one knife had been located at the scene of the incident.
