CHILDREN from Pentwynmawr Primary were excited to take part in their very own wedding service.
A total of 30 pupils, who make up Class One and have been preparing for the event as part of their RE project, took up important roles including the bride and groom.
The enacted wedding service took place on Wednesday at the Presbyterian Church in Pentwynmawr and Reverend Diane Notley conducted the service.
During the fake ceremony, the congregation sang the song Going to the Chapel, Here Comes the Bride, and the theme from the Disney film Frozen all of which were all chosen by the children.
The nursery children acted as the choir.
After the blessing, which was conducted by Rev Notley in front of their parents who acted as guests, the ‘wedding party’ made its way into the church hall for the reception to enjoy cup cakes and sandwiches, made beforehand by the children.
Class One teacher, Mrs Jones, who teaches the class with Mrs Blandon, said: “They spent the past four weeks preparing for the day and made the invitations, the order of service, cakes and sandwiches themselves.”
“The children thought it was amazing and really enjoyed the day.”
“They also used their literacy and numeracy skills in preparing for the event,” she added.
The school would like to thank the parents and staff for all their hard work and help in preparing for the day.
