ONE of the biggest education centres to use Lego officially opened in Aberbeeg with a visit from the Welsh government’s education minister.
Based at the Eden Education Centre on the Glandwr Industrial Estate, the new environment is built to encourage students to engage in subjects, especially STEM subjects, which include science, technology, engineering and maths.
Students from reception up to Key Stage 3 can take part in workshops that are being put on by the centre.
And Huw Lewis AM met with Ystrad Mynach Primary School pupils to demonstrate how effective the new learning environment can be.
He said: “It is going to give young people the opportunity to acquire skills that will be highly valued by employers as we move towards a high technology, innovation-based future.”
