GWENT Police are appealing for help in finding a man who failed to return to a Gwent prison yesterday, having been on day release.

Scott Johnson, 34, is serving a 10-year sentence at HMP Prescoed for wounding and false imprisonment, having been convicted at Birmingham Crown Court in 2011. He is not a registered sex offender.

He is white, of medium build, five feet nine inches tall with blue eyes and a shaved head.

He has contacts in the Worcester area.
