AN award winning poet, playwright and broadcaster appeared at the Caerleon Literary Festival in front of a sell-out audience.
Roger McGough appeared at St Cadocs Church in Caerleon on July 10 as part of the festival and performed to a crowd of 250 people.
Mr McGough, who was awarded a CBE in 2004 for services to literature, appeared at the festival as part of his tour, As Far as I Know, which is promoting his latest book of the same name.
He sold signed copies of his book and drew from it as part of his performance in his witty and entertaining style.
His works cover a diverse range of topics from Dylan Thomas, health and safety, to childhood traumas.
The festival chairman, Tim Davidson, said: “His performance was life viewed from unexpected angles which was illuminating and amusing.
“This year we wanted a star performer and Roger fitted the bill with his sparking performance which provided a delightful evening for everyone.”
