A MAJOR fault in a low voltage underground cable in Chepstow affected the town’s fire station and a health centre this morning.
A spokeswoman for Western Power Distribution said a fault on Mounton Road at 7.30am affected 35 customers but that 26 of them had their electricity restored by 10.55am.
She added the other nine customers should have their supply restored by 4pm by engineers working at the site.
And a South Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said no disruption has been caused to the station’s service because its power is backed up.
The Vauxhall Practice on Vauxhall Lane was said have been back to normal by mid-morning, according to its receptionist Judith Hodges.
