THE Scottish musical Sunshine on Leith is coming to Blackwood Comprehensive School tonight and tomorrow.
Students have been working hard to bring a flawless performance of the story of two soldiers, Ally and Davy, trying to return to their old life after leaving the war in Afghanistan.
The characters learn that the road they have chosen is not a smooth one, leaving the audience wondering if the characters will be able to work through their differences or if the ‘sunshine’ will set on their relationships, as well as on Leith.
The musical features songs by the Proclaimers, along with staging and choreography provided by teaching staff at Blackwood and some of the students themselves.
A team of around 70 students and staff have worked on the production which starts tonight at 6.45pm, with curtain up at 7.15pm. Tickets are available at the school reception costing £6 for adults and £3.50 concessions.
