If you had to be stuck in a lift with someone, who would it be and why?

It definitely wouldn’t be my fiancée, Denise, because she’d have a panic attack. I think I’d choose Gareth Edwards as he’s one of my heroes but I also think he’s got a great persona and would be calming in a stressful situation.

What is your biggest fear?

That’s easy, snakes. Anything that hasn’t got legs, is still fast and can kill me is worth being scared of.

Do you have any superstitions?

Not really; if I see a magpie I might say “Good morning, Mr Magpie” to myself but that’s about it.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

There are so many to choose from! I think I’d have to say something by Queen, although only early Queen, mind you. It would have to be Bohemian Rhapsody simply because it’s very broad and would remind me of lots of times in my life when most songs would just remind me of one.

What is the most expensive thing you’ve bought, not including property?

That would be my car. I bought myself a Lexus 4x4 for £8,000. It’s very comfortable and I’m very much of the opinion that being comfortable in a car is more important than the cost.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

My partner, Denise, once taught me that no matter what, there is always tomorrow and that I should take life as it comes. I’ve been through a lot in my life, I lost all the fingers on my right hand in an accident a number of years ago and I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. It’s been Denise and her advice that has really helped me through a lot of life’s struggles.

What is your indulgence?

My choir. Everything else I do comes second. I just love the singing and enjoying the camaraderie of singing with everyone else in the group

What item could you not live without?

Well I definitely couldn’t live without Denise, but she’s just told me to say my phone or iPad.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I think I’d like to be able to spend a bit more time with my family and return the love and support they’ve shown me.

Where are you next going on holiday?

We always make the point of staying in the country for our holidays and at the end of August we hope to be heading down to Saundersfoot as it’s absolutely beautiful there.
