A CWMCARN man has made a desperate appeal to help find his wife's wedding rings which were lost shortly after her death last week.
Husband Keith Chung with son Koby and daughter Leiona took a walk around the grounds of Tredegar House in Newport on Friday "to take get some air", after Sian Chung died of cancer that morning.
Koby took his mother's wedding and engagement rings "to keep his mum with him".
Before they got back to their car, they discovered the rings were missing.
Mr Chung, 36, who works at Blackwood Comprehensive School, said his son was sure he had them in his pocket and thinks he may have lost them between the gift shop and the car park. He said the little boy is "devastated and heartbroken".
He said: "When Sian was on her death bed, she had not eaten for a week and wasn't drinking so she lost so much weight that the rings had fallen off her fingers."
Mr Chung said his wife had always wanted the engagement ring to go to Koby to pass on to his future wife, while the wedding ring would go to Leiona.
He added:"It's still a big blur at the moment. On top of losing Sian we have to deal with this now as well. It's devastating."
Sian and Keith met at Newbridge Comprehensive and also went to Crosskeys College. They have been married for 13 years and together since 1995.
He has launched an appeal on social media to help find the missing rings.
Sian's wedding ring is an etched gold band with the letter "W" on the inside, and her engagement ring is a gold banded three gem set with a sapphire in the middle beside two smaller diamonds.
The rings are the end two on her hand in the picture.
If anyone finds Sian’s rings, they are asked to hand them in to Tredegar House in Newport or at a police station.
