Summer is finally here, and it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the many exciting things to see and do in Newport.

Closer to home, there’s lots going on in Newport. For those interested in art, Newport Museum and Art Gallery has a fantastic exhibition called ‘Drawing Newport,’ which features drawings inspired by the city, and historic photographs dating from the mid-1800s to the 1960s. The Museum is also holding a special exhibition marking Newport and the First World War. The National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon is marking the World War 1 commemorations with its EQUUS- The Horse at War. This free exhibition looks at the role of the horse in Roman warfare, and includes interpretation of the recently discovered Caerleon horse’s head armour.
