A TEAM of young Newport rugby players are enjoying their success in a new kit, thanks to Bellway Homes Wales.
Members of the Newport Schools Rugby U–15s team were brimming with pride after they won a junior tournament in France with the aid of some ‘lucky’ tour shirts donated by Bellway Homes Wales.
A total of twenty seven rising stars toured the south of France and emerged victorious after hard fought battles with top junior sides from Perpignan.
Next season’s crop of Newport Schools Rugby U–15s will also benefit from the sponsorship of Bellway Homes Wales, who have a strong association with Newport with two housing developments underway in the city at present.
Pinewood is a mixed development consisting of two, three and four bedroom houses in the central area of Alway. The new Maplewood development of 48 three and four bedroom homes sits in Langstone on the eastern edge of the city.
Outgoing Newport Schools Rugby U15s team manager Joe Crocker said: “Very many thanks to Bellway Homes Wales for their kind support.
“This kit donation was fantastic for us at a time when gaining help is difficult and continued financial support is needed to build and grow the grassroots game in Wales.”
Tim Lund, sales manager at Bellway Homes Wales, said: “Congratulations to the Newport Schools Rugby U–15s team on their achievements in France.
"Bellway Homes Wales is always happy to help community projects when we can and it’s great to see the cream of Newport’s young rugby players do well in a tournament of this standing.”
