A MONMOUTHSHIRE teen will be heading to Blackpool to represent her town in a UK-wide beauty competition.
Emma Williams, 18, of Undy, who is currently Miss Caldicot, is set to compete in this year’s Miss Teen Great Britain final which will see 60 girls compete for the crown.
The Wydean School pupil, said: “I entered last year as a one-off and really enjoyed it — I won the Miss Teen Pageant Girl award last year. Pageant Girl Ltd are sponsoring me to enter this year’s competition.
“I am very excited but quite nervous as it’s drawing closer. I really enjoyed the experience of the competition, as you get to meet different girls — it has all helped boost my confidence.”
The competition consists of three rounds: evening wear, fashion wear and an interview with judges. Emma is hoping to raise money for the Claire House Children’s Hospice, which provides care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
She said: “I’m hoping to take part in a 10k run and to climb the Sugarloaf Mountain. It will be nice to give something to help others.”
The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will receive a prize package which includes £1000, £500 to spend at The Dress Studio, and a modelling portfolio with FAB photoshoot. The final which will be for girls between 15 and 19-year-olds will be in Blackpool in August.
