A WELSH Pharmacy will look after athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow by providing medicine and doctors.
South East Wales based Mayberry Pharmacy will make sure they have everything they need, from saline solution for dehydration, pulse oximeters for blood oxygen readings, and even specialised hydrocortisone injections.
The medical team will be responsible for more than 220 Welsh athletes, who will be competing in a large cross-section of athletic and endurance races throughout the 12 day Games. This will put a great demand for medical supplies on Mayberry Pharmacy, however the pharmaceutical staff, who won the Pharmacy Team of the Year Award at the 2014 Chemist and Druggist Awards, are confident that they can deliver.
Paul Mayberry, Managing Director of Mayberry Pharmacy, said: "We're very proud to be helping Wales' Commonwealth Games stars stay fit and well at this year's Games. The athletes have the support of a fantastic team of doctors and it's important these medical specialists have the supplies they need to do their jobs properly. We're honoured to be the Welsh pharmacy group providing them with these vital supplies."
And the support doesn’t end there. In an additional display of team spirit, staff at all seven of the Mayberry Pharmacy branches will be swapping their medical uniforms for the Team Wales Commonwealth Games T-Shirts.
