A FUN day at Rodney Parade will see acts perform on a sound system that was used during the Glastonbury festival.
The event will start at 4.30pm today, straight after the Newport County AFC pre-season friendly match against Carl Zeiss Jena at Spytty Park.
Carl Zeiss Jena fans descended on Newport yesterday, with a small group even attending their teams training session at Undy Athletic Club.
Around a thousand of them, many of whom spent their time enjoying themselves in city pubs like the The Lamb yesterday, are expected to attend the game with County, joining thousands of home supporters.
The live entertainment who will using the state of the art sound system afterwards are Whose Pinksi from Germany, The Money Shot, The Purple Shades, DJ Pikey, AJ Fitz and Misled Truth.
There will also be outside activities for children and their families, as well as stalls from Newport County AFC Supporters Trust, Carl Zeiss Jena Supporters Trust and County Choir.
Hot food and drink will be available all night.
Commercial manager for Newport County AFC, James Watts, said: “We expect 3,000 to be at the game and we anticipate over half of them to come back to Rodney Parade after the game for the fun day.
“There is no cost for anyone to attend the fun day as it is a celebration of the history between the two clubs.”
