A COMMUNITY event held in Llantarnam to raise money for Children in Need was deemed a success by organisers yesterday.
Burton’s Biscuit Company, who produce Jammie Dodgers and Maryland Cookies at its Cwmbran site, held a family fun day to raise money for Children in Need.
And a total of £1,180 was raised on the day.
Steve Picton, the Children in Need fundraising manager at Burton’s Biscuit Company said around 200 people had attended.
“Plenty of people had turned out to support it,” he added.
Held at the Llantarnam Leisure Centre and Fields the glorious sunshine brought out the crowds.
Visitors were treated to a whole host of events, such as a bouncy castle, horse rides, face painting, and penalty shot outs with all proceeds going to Children in Need.
Food and drink stalls were also available at the all day event and mascot Pudsey popped in to say hello to the guests.
Mr Picton added that the team had worked incredibly hard to make sure that everything went to plan on the day.
The fun day forms part of the company’s wider fundraising efforts for Children in Need 2014.
Over £79,000 was raised for Children in Need last year by the company.
