FIGURES released yesterday show that over half of the category A emergency calls in Wales fail to meet the Assembly Government's response time target of eight minutes.
In June 2014, Blaenau Gwent received 349 life threatening emergency calls (Category A) with just 157 (46.8 percent) of those within the eight minute target time.
In Caerphilly 813 Category A calls were received with just 345 of them (43.2 percent) within the eight minute period.
In Monmouthshire, 397 Category A calls were received with 173 of them within the eight minutes (44.6 percent) While in Newport 722 Category A calls were received with 372 of them within the eight minute repose time (54.1 percent).
In Torfaen 433 Category A calls were received with just 189 within the target time (44.6 percent)
