NEIGHBOURS told of hearing screams as a three-year-old boy fell from a first-floor open window of a house in Cwmbran.
Six police officers were called to the house at The Circle in Two Locks shortly before 3pm by ambulance staff, after the tot fell from the window on to a porch and then to the ground.
He was taken to Newport’s Royal Gwent Hospital, but had not suffered long-term or life-threatening injuries, said a spokesman for Gwent Police.
But his lucky escape shocked neighbours and family members.
It is reported that neighbours rushed into the street after hearing a woman screaming hysterically.
They rallied around to see what help they could offer the mother, whose son was laying at the front of the house.
Those who helped are now eagerly waiting news to find out if the boy will be OK.
A neighbour, Paul Dixon, said that the street was “very close knit”.
After hearing of the events, he said: “Any child getting injured is a worry and everyone in the street just hopes he makes a quick recovery.
“When something like this happens, it worries everyone.”
The family said they were too upset by the the shock of the situation to speak with the Argus.
The street was filled by con - cerned residents of the area after the incident.
There were no arrests as a result of the fall, which was described by police as a domestic accident.
