A CAERLEON festival performer has been left devastated after her guitar and songbook with her tunes from the last four years were stolen in a break-in.
Dani-Arianne Wells, 20, is offering a cash reward for any information resulting in a conviction and the return of the Freshman Apollo electro-acoustic guitar stolen from the boot of her boyfriend’s car on Sunday night.
She busks up to three times a week in Cwmbran Town Centre and played at Caerleon festival last month [July 2014].
Her treasured songbook comprising more than 100 original and cover songs were also taken in the break-in at the couple’s home in Newport.
The musician sings for a living and has been saving up for her second year at BIMM music college in Bristol.
Dani, of Colne Street, said: “It’s a beautiful guitar and it is worth a lot to me sentimentally".
“Music has quite literally become my life since I started playing the guitar four years ago.
“I really hope that someone has heard a whisper or something that will help bring my third arm back.”
Her 30-year-old partner, Gareth Jones, realised his Mazda MX-5 convertible had been broken into on Monday lunchtime as he prepared to go to his grandmother’s funeral.
A sat nav, CDs he owns and a rare mono guitar case and were also taken in the theft.
She said police came to take fingerprints from the car the same day but the thief or thieves have not been apprehended, adding she had been “distraught” by the theft.
Gwent Police confirmed the theft had been reported to them and are appealing for information.
The Freshman Apollo 20C guitar has a distinctive crack running from the base to the bridge and a cream leather strap.
