TINY Rebel are celebrating again this week after their bar venture received an award for The Best New Bar in Britain.
Last Wednesday, Newport’s Tiny Rebel gang headed to London for the ShortList Magazine Pints and Pistachios awards after they received recognition for Urban Tap House, their bar in Cardiff.
Company owners, Gareth Williams, 32, and Brad Cummings, 26, headed to the award event with their family to find out if they had beaten nine other venues by receiving the most public votes.
Mr Williams said they were all shocked when it was announced that the bar had won the title.
He said: “We couldn’t believe it as the bar hasn’t even been open a year, as it only opened last October, and it is our first venture and our only pub so it is doing better than we could ever have imagined.
“As the bar is fast approaching its first birthday, it’s perfect timing and shows how far our beer haven has come in such a short space of time.”
He said that fans of the venue can rest assured that the team will keep trying to improve it by bringing in more Tiny Rebel beers, keeping a vast selection of beers and ciders and producing tasty burgers and snacks.
He added that the trophy will soon be proudly on display at the bar and he would like to thank all of the staff who have helped make Urban Tap House what it is.
