WITH just two days to go until the start of the Nato summit, travellers are being urged to use public transport or to allow extra time for their journeys.
With thousands of journalists set to arrive ahead of the summit to be followed by world leaders and ministers from 61 countries, Gwent is certain to face some traffic disruption.
Roads between the Celtic Manor in Newport and Cardiff are most likely to be affected, although there are no plans to close the M4.
Catsash Road is closed from the junction on Belmont Hill on the B4236, to the junction with Roman Road, with access for residents and golf club members only.
Bulmore Road is closed from the Bell Public House in the old village of Caerleon to the junction with Abernant Road.
The footpaths that cross the Celtic Manor Resort are closed, with notices in place at the points of closure.
All these closures are to be lifted at 7am on Saturday.
The times most likely to be affected by congestion are the rush-hours on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
