DECISIONS will be made next week on two plans that which would see garages knocked down for affordable housing in Caldicot.
Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) owns land and 13 single storey garages at Cae Mawr Grove and another 12 off Green Lane.
But MHA wants to demolish them to make way for a two-bedroom bungalow at the former site and for four one-bedroom flats off Green Lane.
Caldicot Town Council has said the proposals should be rejected because they lack plans for amenity areas for children.
If the garages are demolished, residents will be able to use off-street parking at their individual properties, a study found. Officers said problems are not unanticipated because they expect people will be able to find other places to park.
But two residents expressed concerns to the council that they had seen increased parking problems over the last 20 years.
A decision will be made by members of Monmouthshire Council’s planning committee on Tuesday, April 14 at County Hall in Usk.
