A CWMBRAN mother has planned to have her two foot blonde locks shaved off after being inspired by her teenage daughter doing the same last year
Bank liaison officer Sarah Carmock, 39, from Cwmbran, is shaving her hair off to raise funds for two charities after being inspired by her daughter Nicole Carmock.
Mrs Carmock’s hair is currently around 24in long. But she is looking forward to taking part in the fundraising event.
Her daughter, who was 15 at the time, decided to shave her hair off last year to raise money for the charity Parkinson’s UK as her grandad, Lee Burbridge, suffers from the condition.
For her efforts she raised £1,500 and Mrs Carmock is ambitious to beat her daughter’s total when she has her head shaved at the end of April.
Mrs Carmock is raising money for both Parkinson’s UK, and has raised £195, and Little Princess Trust, raising £260 so far.
Little Princess Trust makes free wigs for children and Mrs Carmock will also be donating her hair to the charity.
Mrs Carmock said: “Nicole didn’t have any regrets about shaving her hair, but did wear a hat for a while whilst her hair was growing back.”
She added that despite it being less than a year since Nicola had her head shaved, her hair is already halfway down her back.
The sponsored head shave will take place on April 25, at noon, at Ice Hair and Beauty in Cwmbran, the same hairdressers where her daughter’s took place
