A PONTYPOOL vintage shop owner has dyed his hair blue to raise money for JDRF UK, who conduct research into diabetes.
Allun Davies, 47, chose the colour blue as it’s the corporate colour for the charity.
JDRF UK is close to Mr Davies’ heart as his wife, Nicola Davies, 43 was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 12 years ago.
After attending an awareness day held by the charity, Mr Davies said: “I was amazed at the work they’re doing, they really are doing their best to cure diabetes.”
The father of three also explained that he had been a paramedic for 10 years but had never realised how intrusive diabetes was.
Mr Davies has raised a total of £235 so far, but is ambitious to raise more.
