CROWDS flocked to watch the opening ceremony of Chepstow Walking Festival today.
The fest features a total 22 walks of all shapes and sizes plus events and a chance to see Chepstow and surrounding areas at its finest.
People gathered in Beaufort Square to watch ramblers accompanied by stilt walker Mike Hogan and performances by a singing group.
The festival organisers said they had created “fantastic” walks including some favourites with a different slant, and a rare chance to walk around Chepstow Racecourse.
The festival also features evening events including a welcome buffet and talk by the Severn Area Rescue Association, a talk by Kevin Walker on “Forgotten Wales” from the walker’s perspective, and an evening walk followed by stargazing with Monmouth Astronomical Research Society.
