SOUTH Wales singer Katherine Jenkins is pregnant with her first child - a baby girl.
The 34-year-old classical singer said that she and husband Andrew Levitas are "overjoyed" at the prospect of becoming parents this autumn.
Posting a snap of a pair of pink baby shoes on top of a framed photograph from her wedding, the mezzo-soprano told fans on Instagram: "Couldn't be more excited to meet our little girl!"
She said in a statement: "We are overjoyed to be expecting our first child in the autumn.
"Starting a family and moving into this exciting phase of our lives is a blessing for which we are incredibly grateful. We eagerly await the arrival of our little girl!"
Jenkins has previously spoken about wanting to have children, saying: "Now I'm married, I do want kids....I do really want a family."
She married US filmmaker and artist Levitas at Hampton Court Palace last September after a whirlwind romance.
The couple went public with their relationship when Levitas accompanied Jenkins to Buckingham Palace to collect her OBE.
They announced their engagement after six months of dating.
She was previously engaged to TV presenter Gethin Jones and dated him for four years until splitting in 2011.
