A CHARITY fundraiser will kick off a summer music festival based at Chepstow Castle.
The Big C Charity Bash will be held on August 20 and will include a hog roast and cider night as well as hours of free live entertainment from 7pm.
It will raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and donations will be taken throughout the night.
Live acts who will be playing at the event will be revealed on the festival’s website. Entry is limited to 1,500 so organisers have urged people to book early to avoid disappointment.
Festival organiser Carol Mutlow said: “We are absolutely over the moon to be in a position to put on a free evening for Chepstow folk and also to be supportive of a worthy charity in addition to the work we do with Winds Of Time for BBC Children In Need and Cystic Fibrosis Trust throughout the festival .
“I’m sure that all the readers can imagine that shows like this cost a lot of money to set up, in both financial and time terms. This year we have had some fantastic offers of assistance from local firms and suppliers and also our team which has helped to make this one off a possibility. When you know that the benefactors of this combined effort are the good people of Chepstow and the surrounding areas plus Marie Curie Cancer Care, it all becomes 100 per cent worthwhile for all involved.”
The event will be followed by a host of stars playing every night until Levellers close it on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31.
Newport’s Goldie Lookin’ Chain will play the castle on August 26, Bellowhead on August 27 and ELO tribute ELO Again on August 29.
Chart-toppers Blue will be in Chepstow on August 30.
