AROUND 50 adults and children donned their favourite pyjamas and onesies to take part in the second Usk pyjama walk.
Dressed in themed-outfits ranging from a dalmatian to a bunny onesie, the walkers gathered in the Memorial Hall Field on Friday evening for a short walk around Usk.
Entrants made donations to join in the fun and enjoy hot dogs helping to raise £375 towards the Jane Hathaway Leukaemia Fund, which was set up by Tom and Georgina Hathaway after losing their daughter Jane to leukaemia at the age of 10 in 1985.
Their share of the funds raised will be donated to the Welsh children’s cancer charity LATCH. The other charity to benefit is The Valerie Fund.
Organisers Meirion and Sarah Howells, of Usk,said they were inspired to fundraise for children’s cancer charities because their nephew Luke Weldon, now five, received more than two years of treatment for leukaemia and has been in remission for over a year. Luke, who is visiting the family from America, led the walk and handed out medals to everyone who took part.
Mr Howell, of Usk Osteopathy, said: “It was a fun evening. The kids loved being in their onesies and pyjamas and we raised £375 to be split between the two charities.”
